Genre Mind Map (Action)

 In Action, one of the most common narrative that we can find is the main character (usually protagonist) in the journey to do a special quest and facing a climax (confront with another character that's 100% oppose the protagonist). As we can see from Baby Driver, Baby is in the mission while facing with a lot of enemy while escaping the bank.

Camera work also played a crucial roles in action movie, as different angle are encode with different meaning. For example a low angle may show upward perspective, create a sense of enlargement and dominance for the protagonist. Over-the-shoulder commonly used in combat and fighting scene to shows different perspective and give a wider view of the scene. Slow motion enhance the dramatic and emphasise key action in that shots, may also create tension as well which put audience attention at its highest.

Iconography in action movie is pretty decent, some basic props such as weapons, vehicles are commonly find in majority of action movie. For Baby Driver, it's his sun glasses with a iconic red sedan.

Some of the common sound that we can hear in action movie is definitely electric and high-tempo soundtrack which often support the fast-paced editing that most of action movie has. Use of ambient sound also help to add to the realism of the sequence as well.

Most of the editing were straight cut to enhance the fast-paced editing, however their maybe some application of cross cutting, match cut and graphic match to increase the audience excitement.

Lastly, some of the model character in action movie would be the villain, sometime the one that get the most attentions and fame apart from the main character. The heroes, which is often main character of the sequence that receive decent media attention. Usually for some main character, they would have some "follower" in which these characters follow protagonist all the times.
