The Spy Reflection

Reflection for The Spy

The planning stage that our team did initially was disrupted for various reasons, and one of them being a change in location. Our team has spent a maximum of 15 minutes doing a quick "research" where we could film our sequences since the original part was occupied.

According to our story board, we did change about 2 or 3 scenes to adapt to this change in location. However this adjustment turned out to be better! One other difficulty that our team faces during this production stage is that we film this on a public holiday which is Mid-Autumn festivals therefore the school ground is packed with children and parents. There's this one shot in our sequence where one spy is running away from the scene to read the content of the books, but those shots took us 20-30 minutes just to redo the shots because we don't want any "extras" cast in our sequence. Apart from all the. experiences that I personally gain from this production, but I'm also having a better sense of how difficult media production is.

Speaking about scenes in the opening sequence, I found this scene the most interesting out of all. Mostly because I’m a part of this opening scene, and in accordance with the theme of the opening scene which is “spy”, I think I did a pretty good job. Another shot that I find very interesting is this one where Spy A is looking around for Spy B. As you can see very far away, a black spot appears from nowhere. It looks suitable for a spy movie in my opinion. And lastly these POVs shots are also my top 3 favorite. Since it allows a diverse perspective about how the 2 Spy are cooperatively working together without any sense of suspicion. The challenge when filming POVs shots also impresses me as well, since the action of the camera needed to fit adjacently to the action of the Spy in order for it to look realistic and have a sense of continuity in the shots.

And lastly, this shots is not one of my favorite, in fact it’s my least favorite shots, even though it create a hooks for audience since they cannot clearly see the content of the books, I find it very annoyed since the whole point of this opening scene is to allowing us to know the content of the book but it turns out to be very bright and blur.
